New 'Twilight' Blu-ray explores star's love of babies

As if Robert Pattinson didn't have enough attributes to make him a major heartthrob for scads of female Twilight fans, he also really likes kids.
The British actor's enthusiasm for babies is just one piece of information revealed in a seven-part documentary featured in the Blu-ray/DVD release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, out Saturday. (There will be many, many midnight-release parties at various stores around the country late Friday night, too, for the true die-hards.)
The second Breaking Dawn brings to a close the movie series adaptating Stephenie Meyer's popular vampire-romance novels featuring Pattinson as Edward Cullen, Kristen Stewart as his human love (and wife) Bella Swan and Taylor Lautner as the werewolf member of this five-movie love triangle.
The final movie finds the presence of Edward and Bella's child Renesmee igniting an epic conflict between the Cullens and the evil vampire clan the Volturi. A rotating cast of babies was used to play Renesmee as an infant; 12-year-old Mackenzie Foy played the Cullens' daughter for most of the film.
There's all sorts of drama on screen as Bella gets used to her new vampire status quo — which came as a result of Edward saving her life while giving birth — but off screen, in the Blu-ray bonus features, Pattinson is all smiles dealing with the various children, playing with the tiny youngsters and acting in a piano scene with older ones.
"It was amazing to watch Rob with the babies," director Bill Condon says. "He would just turn into this completely different person.
"He would actually argue: 'Why do I have to keep giving the baby away to other people? I don't get to hold her enough.' "
In addition to the documentary, there is a featurette on the making of both Breaking Dawn films simultaneously (an extended edition of Part 1 is also available Saturday), an audio commentary from Condon and a music video of Green Day's The Forgotten.
