About this product

Product Information

Immerse yourself in an epic battle for the future of the planet in this exciting first-person shooter PlayStation game. In Killzone for Sony PlayStation 2, you fight off invading forces from an alien planet to regain control of your own futuristic world. This classic game features stunning graphics, an intriguing plot, and action-packed gameplay. Guerrilla Games and Sony Computer Entertainment originally released Killzone for Sony PlayStation 2 in 2004. Its release date was November 2, 2004 in North America and it is compatible with North American PlayStation consoles. Like other PlayStation 2 games, it comes in a game DVD format. In 2012, the game got a reboot for PS3. As PlayStation consoles are not backwards compatible, the PS2 version is not compatible with PS3 and the PS3 version is not compatible with PS4. However, sequels in the series are available for other platforms such as PS4, PSP, and PS Vita. This version is designed to run on PlayStation 2 video games consoles. It has an “M” for Mature rating and is recommended for players over 17 due to strong language, graphic violence, and blood. This Killzone PS2 game was Sony’s futuristic answer to the popular Call of Duty series games. In this thrilling FPS, you follow Captain Jan Templar, the leader of a International Strategic Alliance (ISA) squad that defends the galactic colony he calls home. When a planet called Helghast rebels and starts invading its neighbor, Vekta, Templar must defend the peaceful planet against the invading forces. He is also tasked at retrieving Colonel Gregor Hakha, a key intelligence officer that has gone missing while infiltrating the enemy forces from Helghast. The people of Helghast have mutated due to the planet’s environment, which gives them superhuman strength. Templar must complete his mission before it is too late. You can play Killzone for PS2 in single-player and multiplayer modes. Multiplayer mode lets you play with up to two campaign players and can accommodate up to 12 online players. You can use both ISA and enemy Helghast weapons to defeat the Helghast army. ISA weapons include grenades, shotguns, combat knives, missile weapons, assault rifles, and heavy weapons. Helghast weapons include laser weapons, light machine guns, and sniper rifles. Although a number of vehicles appear in the game, playable characters travel by foot, so you cannot control vehicles. The Killzone for PS2 game features 11 challenging levels. Choose from four playable characters, including Captain Jack Templar and his three squad mates. Each time you complete a mission in the game, you move up to the next level. The terrain moves you from jungles to mountains as you battle for control of Vekta. Both the terrain and enemies become more challenging with each progressive level. You can find the PS2 version of Killzone at a variety of budget levels. If you are a games collector, you can also find sealed copies to add to your library. Before you commit to a purchase, make sure the game is compatible with your console, as there is a re-release version available for PS3.

    Childhood memories

I remember playing KILLZONE on a demo disc back in the day and I was fixed on it! I’m super happy I bought this game to enjoy it fully! Makes me want to play the whole series. It was in great condition and works great!

  • An Honest View

To sum it up, Killzone is about colonization and an invasion. The Helghast Empire launches an attack on I.S.A. (which will be the side you fight for) and you take control of various characters of different classes in an attempt to stop the invasion. First, let's talk about the plot. The one interesting thing about this game is that it's human versus human (or human descendant I should say). The Helghasts are mutated humans that have multiple advantages over the humans. The plot itself isn't compelling to the point where you can't stop playing the game but it holds its own. A lot of people try to compare Killzone to Halo. I don't think it's an accurate comparison. Killzone is SIMILAR to Halo but not better or worse. Killzone features a multiple character story line. You're not just one ...

  • Not bad

During the PS2's lifecycle, the FPS genre as a whole has been surprisingly underwhelming for the system. Sony's own Killzone was supposed to change all that, being labeled a "Halo killer" when first unveiled. Well, here we are only a few years later, and the original Killzone is still pretty underwhelming itself. Killzone puts you in the shoes of one of four playable characters as you battle in an interstellar war. What sets Killzone apart from other FPS' is the game's very well done story and ideas. The game's story alone will make you want to get further into the game to see what happens next. Whether or not that happens though is entirely up to you. The single player mode is lengthy and is heavy on action elements, but there are a number of noticeable glitches and bugs that mar the ...

  • PS2: Killzone 2004

This game really puts you in the middle of the action...its a epic war between Marine's and Black Ops! You have many weapons and even grenades to toss, you can also play free-style team vs. team! Its exciting and keeps you on your toes with plenty of action and heart throbbing experiences...can you survive? GOOD ROLE PLAYER GAME! Kill or be killed! I would tell anyone who likes war based fighting games...GET THIS GAME.....it does have some graphic battle scenes such as blood, being blown up, killing & explosions so I would use age discretion! Definetely NOT for younger children...

  • Alright for a PS2 game.

This game has great graphics, pretty good controls (even tho they kinda feel stiff sometimes) and is overall a fun game. The graphics are phenomenal for a ps2 game. It seems almost as good as some graphics on Final Fantasy 12. They do tend to get clunky though, at times. The voice acting is pretty bad. The controls feel a bit clunky at times, but all of this is fixed in killzone 2. I know this review has some bad grammar, but i'm too lazy to fix it. Overall, it's fun and you should buy it cause it's pretty cheap.
