A quick demonstration of how the flip opens – the when closed, it swivels from the bottom right, opening with a satisfying thump.
Fully open with the QWERTY keyboard revealed.
The Flipout ships with a red backplate already in place, with the aforementioned spares letting you change this to white or black if the red proves a little racy. The camera is 3MP – a little light by today’s standards.
The Flipout fully-opened in rear-view.
The top shot, showing off the power/screen lock button and the headphone jack. It’s worth noting that the Flipout does not like standing in this position, owing to some balance issues.
Taking the case off reveals the 1170mAh battery. Motorola claimed a battery life of 275 minutes for standard smartphone use.
The Micro-SD card can be removed without taking out the battery...
...but the SIM card cannot.
