The Duchess of Cambridge is officially out of office. Today, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, arrived in Warsaw, Poland, for the first leg of their international trip. Kicking things off on a stylish note, Middleton chose a soft Alexander McQueen peplum frock that fell in line with her newly directional take on style. She then continued the trend into the evening, wearing a white cocktail dress by Gosia Baczyńska to a (belated) birthday reception for Queen Elizabeth II at the U.K. embassy.

Middleton has often looked to designer Sarah Burton’s feminine designs for their subtle sophistication, but lately, the Duchess has switched things up with flirty, printed frocks from Dolce & Gabbana and Catherine Walker, as seen at Wimbledon. Today’s McQueen dress upped the fashion quotient with a built-in, matching belt and plunging neckline that recalled the Duchess’s majestic Marchesa moment at a recent state banquet. A pair of neutral Gianvito Rossi suede stilettos grounded the look, along with a captivating final touch: a Jenny Packham gilded-edge clutch and a glittering suite of ruby jewelry.

For the celebratory affair, Middleton paid homage to her host nation with help from the Warsaw-based Baczyńska. The white dress featured classic Middleton details like a fitted waist, modest length, and a leaf belt. Pearl accessories amped up the prim effect, while a black clutch and coordinating ankle-strap stilettos finished things off.
