(Ski) jumping in! Eddie The Eagle director Dexter Fletcher replaces Bryan Singer as director of Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody

The Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapshody has a new director following the abrupt departure of Bryan Singer.

British actor and director Dexter Fletcher, 51, has been tapped to take over the reins, Fox announced Wednesday.

Fletcher, who helmed the 2016 film Eddie The Eagle starring Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton, is expected to resume production on the movie next week, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Singer was fired from the project on Monday amid reports he clashed on set with actor Rami Malek who stars as Freddie Mercury.

Malek had complained to the studio about Singer's unprofessionalism on behalf of the cast.

The studio blamed the filmmaker's unexplained absences from the production as the reason for the firing. He did not return to work following the Thanksgiving holiday, causing filming to be suspended.

Off the project: Singer, 52, was fired by Fox on Monday over his absence from the London set. He countered the studio had refused to give him time off to care for an ill parent
Conflict: It's also been claimed that Singer clashed on set with actor Rami Malek, 36, who stars as the late Freddie Mercury

Singer, though, fired back saying Fox had refused to give him time off to care for an ill parent.

According to THR.com, Singer, 52, has been AWOL on other sets in which he was the director, including 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse and 2006's Superman Returns.

The majority of the film that's being shot in London is already in the can.

Fletcher is a former child actor who made his debut in 1976's Bugsy Malone and has extensive screen credits.

He made his directorial debut with the drama Wild Bill in 2011 and followed that up with the comedy Sunshine On Leith in 2013.

In last year's Eddie The Eagle, he told the story of beloved British underdog Eddie Edwards who, against the odds, represented Great Britain in ski jumping at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada.

Most recent film: Fletcher directed last year's Eddie The Eagle that starred Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton in the tale of beloved British Olympic ski jumper Eddie Edwards
