ZOELLA has come under fire for her “rip off” £50 advent calendar which has 12 products inside that are only worth roughly around £21.57 in total.

The Boots website says: “12 amazing and exclusive treats, from beautifully scented candles to stunning accessories, stationery, baking goodies and other special surprises".

With 12 products in the £50 calendar, it would roughly work out with each would be worth around £4 each.

However YouTuber Yasmine Summan decided to break down the cost of the individual items and found that similar products can be sourced for as little as 77p each.

She said: "After searching for each item on Amazon and Primark, buying each item individually would all together cost you £21.57 (roughly). So you're paying: £28.43 extra for her name on it."

One reviews said: “Do not Buy! What a load of tat. Selling for 50 pound is a joke.”

Another said: “Everything in this box is tat (minus the candles) that could easily be purchased from a pound shop. DO NOT buy this for your children, terrible waste of money.”

However not all were negative.

One said: “I bought this and I am so glad I did. Everyone on here is saying it is overpriced, but let’s face it, company’s have to make money! I’m also sure that some of the cost will be for the quality of ye packaging, because to me it feel rather sturdy. I would recommend this product xx.”

Unlike traditional calendars, the 12 Days Of Christmas kicks off on December 25.

Shoppers will be able to open up winter goodies each day up until Friday 5, 2018.
