On course for 10hr battery life sot. What I expected for that battery size. That's good

Not too bad, used it for 9 straight hours today and had a 8 hour SOT. I even talked on the phone for an hour today. Stand YouTube for about the first 3 hours, streamed Google play music the rest of the day, also finished installing my apps and such.

Is it from the Samsung app or some other method because I have not rooted my note yet

2nd day with my note 9.
drained it when i received the phone then charged to full.
did my thing, heavy music/media/browsing and gaming.
total use in hand was about 6 hours. The phone got warm. so much for water cooling.
Im now at 15 hours, 15% left.

9Tested both my exynos and snapdragon note 9's side by side with same apps. At the same time. Gf looking at me like I was so weird. Xxx

The tests drained about 40% battery from the phones it seemed as I get rid of the percentage amount of remaining battery in the options. So upon checking I saw....
Exynos 53% left
Snapdragon 61% left
7 to 8 percent difference
The exact same applications, exact same phone state, phones both in flight mode, everything off like Bluetooth etc and only WiFi on connected to same network. Screen at same brightness, a carbon copy of each other, same apps installed etc. During the test accubattery consistently showed less drain with its live current battery drain overlay option in video watching, cpu tasks and especially gpu heavy moments.
CPU spy showed the Exynos using the higher cpu clocks much more than the snapdragon. Snapdragon hovered at its lowest cpu state a lot longer. Surprised how much snapdragon is smoother in everything and used a lot less battery. We knew it was better but I didn't think by this much.
If tests were to continue till one of the phones died, I'm guessing roughly the snapdragon would have around 16% left while exynos would be dead. Not the most scientific test but it gives a good idea. I have pics of some of the results, if I can be bothered to put them up, I will.
The Exynos was returned.4Some of you expect way too much and fall for the hype train. Also, comparing battery life and usage to someone else's is rather pointless. None of you use your phones the exact same way in the exact same situations. Don't feel bad if you only 3-4 hours of SOT, it just means you only used the screen to 3-4 hours, and everything else are the battery. Power/energy doesn't dissipate into nothing, I just gets used somewhere else. So if you screen isn't using it, something else is.
Here's mine for example, I don't get good life because I'm always playing music on speakers. Know what doesn't get account in battery life? The speakers.4
Why am i being mentioned all i did was show my SOT and i can't use default theme white blinds me, and if i was to test it on white default on my AT&T Note9 Snapdragon i would still get same results on SOT my wife has same phone as me and she uses white default and gets 10 hrs SOT as well. So has nothing to do with my theme, i just can't use white to plain and blinds me out, so please keep me out of this i have nothing to do with anyone here as i have not at all quoted you on none of stuff here, i think this is nonsense people arguing about SOT, just enjoy the phone.
Sent from my SM-N960U using XDA Labs3Really should try themes like material dark from Galaxy app store. Doing stuff like this will probably add about 1-2h of SOT. I still need to set up ADB on my laptop so I can change my nav bar to black.
To give you an idea of how much battery life blacking out as much as you can on OLED I believe it was the note3 where I blacked out almost everything. Even most of my Google apps were blacked out with team blackout or whatever they were called. I was getting 10-12h SOT/2 days per charge about 5-6 years ago for about 2 months before I updated the OS and team blackout dropped support.
I also use naked browser and it's night theme for reading articles on the web when chrome isn't needed. My last charge is 1.5 days mostly wifi usage as I am still testing the note9. I haven't had a note since note4. I am hoping I can get enough SOT I can use my phone over 2 days to prolong battery longevity since the battery is sealed. Most of you have not done any optimizations and are getting good battery life for what you have but put no effort in your phone and wonder how come you're not getting battery life like people that have put effort into optimizing their phone. It is mandatory I try to get 2 days use from this phone as it cost me $1400 because Samsung did not cancel my order and shipped anyways. Even if Samsung did cancel I would've paid $1250 through B&H which is still exorbitant and I need to get 2 years from this phone to justify it. Surprisingly my last 2 phones, the note4 and V20, I used 2 years because they held up well and had swappable battery. I am on my 3rd battery for V20 and 4th for note4, both of which I have 3 batteries left.
My V20 will be repurposed as a DAP and my note4 I guess is still my backup phone. There is little use for it though since the input latency for the note9 s pen blows the note4 out of the water.
Anyways, the peeps getting 5-6h SOT that haven't done any theming are getting expected battery life values. I also use auto brightness and am training my note9's auto brightness as it has been working very well though a little aggressive. Even with my 8h SOT my last 2 charges I would venture I used my note9 in direct or indirect sunlight blasting auto mode for about 1.5h. But notice my screenshot in that I was able to get 8h SOT over 1.5 days and still had enough battery left I could just pocket my phone for another day or two for calls and texts only. ?3
Go to each apps settings (SETTINGS > APPS) & turn off background data for each app that it's totally unnecessary.
That should get you some improvement.
The next area I'd look is the quality of your Cellular/WI-FI Connections. If either are weak,that's gonna be a significant drain.
Check your developer optoins settings regarding Cellular/WI-FI & make adjustments if you deem it necessary.
