HOLLYWOOD heartthrob Christian Bale hit the red carpet for the premiere of much-anticipated boxing film The Fighter.
The Welsh-born actor chose a more casual ensemble than glamorous co-stars Amy Adams and Mark Wahlberg, wearing jeans and a black jumper to greet fans at Hollywood’s Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
Joined by his wife, former model and make-up artist Sibi Blazic, The Dark Knight star, sporting a full beard and long hair, smiled for the cameras.
Stars came out in force, including the film’s director David O Russell, co-star Melissa Leo, actress Virginia Madsen, and boxer Dicky Eklund, whom Bale plays in the film. The Fighter chronicles the life of Irish boxer Micky Ward (Wahlberg) and his trainer brother Eklund from their early days on the streets through Eklund’s battle with drugs and Ward’s eventual world championship in London.
