Shooting the Pirelli calendar has been the Holy Grail of photography since its creation in 1964. Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, Richard Avedon, Herb Ritts and Tim Walker have lent their talents to the project. After having chosen Albert Watson in 2019, it is the turn of the Italian fashion photographer Paolo Roversi to immortalise on glossy paper emblematic models, talented artists, actresses and geniuses for the 2020 Pirelli calendar. Known for his style combining realism and illusion, with images full of sensuality, this self-taught artist has worked on campaigns for some of the greatest fashion houses such as Giorgio Armani and Dior in the early 1980s, a house that would introduce him to his first hours of glory.

Looking for Juliet, that is the name chosen by Paolo Roversi for the Pirelli 2020 calendar, a nod to the Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet, and of the mythical love story that it portrays. Shot between Paris and Verona, the photographer has immortalised a plethora of stars such as Kristen Stewart, Claire Foy, Yara Shahidi, Emma Watson, Mia Goth, Stella Roversi, the chinese singer Chris Lee, the Spanish artist Rosalía and Indya Moore, who each played a strong, proud and free Juliet Capulet.
