Garandy Posted January 17, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2022 No makers marks visable, or date, hooks look brass has WW2 laundry number inside so must have been used in WW2 unless they used same system in WW1?
Charlie Flick Posted January 18, 2022 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2022 Hello Garandy: I suspect that your revolver is not USGI but rather a private purchase item. I say that based upon the unusually large belt slots, the absence of any maker markings, and the stitching pattern that appears to be somewhat non-conforming to the standard M1916 pattern. Garandy Posted January 18, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted January 18, 2022 You mean holster not revolver? Yes it’s different looking but maybe another maker? It is U. S. Embossed
Charlie Flick Posted January 19, 2022 Share #4 Posted January 19, 2022 Yes, sorry, I meant to say Holster when I wrote revolver. Duh. The fact that the holster is marked US on the flap is of no consequence in determining who made it. Many of the private purchase M1916 holsters are so marked, as are many of the modern reproductions/replicas that are flooding Ebay today.
