The outspoken boss of Ryanair was splattered in the face with a pair of cream pies by climate protesters in Brussels this morning.
Michael O’Leary was about to deliver a press conference in the Belgian capital when he was ambushed by the eco-activists.
The Irish businessman was appearing outside the European Union headquarters to deliver a petition to the commission urging a change in the law to protect overflights in Europe at times of industrial action.
O’Leary ducked his head down to avoid a potential blow as the first protester hit him with a pie. A second woman approached from behind, hitting him with a second pie.
“Welcome to Belgium!”, the activists cheered as they ran off. O’Leary replied “Well done!” with a smile.
