Tottenham Hotspur want to announce the signing of Gareth Bale before this weekend. The Real Madrid forward moved to the brink of a sensational return to north London yesterday after calling José Mourinho and telling the Spurs head coach that the club have a special place in his heart.
Tottenham are close to an agreement on the proportion of Bale’s salary they will have to pay and the potential loan fee to secure him from Real Madrid. The total package is expected to cost the club up to £20 million. Bale arrived at Madrid’s training ground this morning and is expected the fly to England tomorrow to complete a season-long loan.
