Description

This is a formative assessment (with answer key and black-and-white version) to measure the pre-algebra/algebra skill of Solve One Step Algebra Equations with Integers (Common Core Math standard 7.EE.B.3 and TEKS 6.10A).

The assessment is a Level 3 (Mastering the Skill) worksheet containing 16 free-response problems in which students must find the correct solution to a one-step algebraic equation with integers. (You can also use a FREE interactive, autograded version on the TeacherMade website by clicking HERE).

In comparison to the Level 1 and 2 versions of this worksheet (also available at The Arisen Phoenix Store), this assessment features free response larger integers, which should increase the difficulty for students that need a challenge. Solving one-step equations is a core skill in Algebra 1. This assessment is already formatted to work well in Easel if you use that platform.

There are two other versions of this assessment at this skill level available for reassessment purposes (or to combat "wandering eyes"), and level 1 and level 2 versions for differentiation, all available in your friendly neighborhood The Arisen Phoenix Store on TpT. This is version 3b of the worksheet.

Solve multi-step real-life and mathematical problems posed with positive and negative rational numbers in any form (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals), using tools strategically. Apply properties of operations to calculate with numbers in any form; convert between forms as appropriate; and assess the reasonableness of answers using mental computation and estimation strategies. For example: If a woman making $25 an hour gets a 10% raise, she will make an additional 1/10 of her salary an hour, or $2.50, for a new salary of $27.50. If you want to place a towel bar 9 3/4 inches long in the center of a door that is 27 1/2 inches wide, you will need to place the bar about 9 inches from each edge; this estimate can be used as a check on the exact computation.
