Las nacionalidades: Mini conversations practice with nationalities

A group of students are getting to know each other in their Spanish class. Complete each mini conversation with the name of the country in the first blank and the nationality in the second blank. Note: The nationality must agree in gender (masculine or feminine) with the person’s name.

*There are 18 conversations total (18 different Spanish speaking countries included).

*At the end of the conversations, students will answer 5 personal questions about themselves. All questions are with ser.

Example:

Cuba / cubano

(1) Tomás: ¿De dónde eres tú?

Luis: Yo soy de ___________________ (country). Yo soy ________________________ . (nationality)

Answer key is included on pages 5-8 for the mini conversations only. For the personal questions, student answers will vary.

This practice can be used for classwork, homework, quiz, entry or exit slip. Students can also do this practice orally in pairs or small groups.
