Description

Emergent readers can learn to read using a variety of strategies like predictable text. Predictable books can help early emergent readers learn patterns of words and use pictures in context to "read" predictable words on a page.

What's included:

  • 1 predictable text pattern book
  • Black-and-white
  • ALPHABET SERIES: Letter E
  • 7 pages plus cover
  • Half-sheet mini books
  • Black and white graphics and text for simple print & copy
  • 2 sheets per page to save on copies

Pedagogy for the predictable book/text

While many early literacy classrooms are provided with predictable readers to use in the classroom, it is important to tailor the learning to students. These predictable books engage students in learning to read. The black and white graphics allow students to color customize their own book, making the learning more concrete and meaningful for individual students.

How to use predictable readers:

  • Use in guided reading groups
  • Independent work during centers
  • Homework with parents to develop home literacy learning

Students have fun reading their predictable books and coloring them to make the book their own. They will build their own library collection of books they can read independently at home.
