Activity Information:
Against the Clockis a quick and effective formative assessment game! Not unlike mathematical timed tests in elementary schools, students race against the clock to complete 36 quick review questions. They make note of how long it took to complete the questions and then add 10 seconds for every mistake once they check it against the answer key. It's such a simple concept, but it's really effective! Students really respond to the independent challenge to race against the clock, and they are able to grade their own to see quickly what they need to study.
This game is all ready to go! It includes detailed instructions on how to implement it in the classroom, how to project the stopwatch for students to see, playing boards, and an answer key. It takes 5-10 minutes.
