Description

This virtual icebreaker lesson is the perfect introductory community building activity for all students; intermediate, advanced and beginning students. On the first day students learn about the 5 important things that the teacher would need if leaving the country for an extended period of time in order to feel at home. There are images for beginning students so that the teacher can talk through their items in the target language. The teacher then shares the document with students through the classroom making sure to assign each student their own copy. The assign function in Google Classroom has this function that the teacher selects when assigning classwork. Once the teacher is done modeling the communication target, students take 15 minutes to create their own with the provided blank google slide template. Then, they take turns sharing their 5 things with the class. Extension activities and ideas for homework and/or follow up are also included.
