Draw-Bar combinations can be green too! Don-Bur were the first to develop and manufacture the Teardrop Draw-Bar which look fantastic and save fuel. https://lnkd.in/dTD8DeJ Draw-Bars are also commonly coupled with de-mountable systems and Don-Bur designs both contact and straight lift types to suit existing fleet designs. https://lnkd.in/dQsnetv #drawbars #demountable #demounts #teardroptrailer #dhl DHL

The above is a drawbar. Fairly straightforward. This is a wagon and drag. With two pivot points. Selby Mill early one morning when loading bagged flour. I learned how to reverse one without turning it round. Note the lack of a front mounted hitch These were demountable bodies. We could put a bulk tank on the chassis when required. The prime movers had blowers for discharge of bulk product.

Ah, yes. I love a good wagon and drag, but demounts make me shudder, having done a stint with them early in my driving career. I never did get good enough that I could back under two together and pick them both up - apparently sticking the drag on the pin at the front of the prime mover and doing it forwards is cheating... 😲 😂

Demount wagon & drags, bloody hard nights work for the driver dropping and swapping.

Draw-bars might be a bit niche for some operators, but nothing else cuts the mustard for others. The draw-bar demount concept has served us well for years. I wonder if a more widespread rollout of LSTs will make them even more of a niche product?
