The U.S. Navy's nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) on the morning of March 28 docks at a naval base in Busan. Measuring 332.8 m in length and 76.8 m in width, the vessel, dubbed a "floating military base," can accommodate 6,000 crew and 90 deck planes such as the F/A-18F Super Hornet. The Ministry of National Defense in Seoul said the purpose of the ship's arrival was to promote friendly bilateral cooperation with the U.S. and raise combined defensive readiness.
