The Castle erects on the promontory above Varenna, founded in year 1100 for defensive purposes
as watch tower with walls descending till the small village of Perledo.
From the tower and inside the walls it’s possible to enjoy an unique view extedning from Balbianello promontory till Bellagio peninsula, Tremezzo area and along Lecco branch of the lake till the coast of Menaggio.
The structure houses a falconry centre and a vbar for its guests, entrance is by paid admission.
