Buyer Tip: If you're the High Bidder in an auction when it closes, don't assume you're the final High Bidder. Someone could outbid you in the final seconds of the auction if your Max Bid isn't high enough. You're not the high Bidder until you've been notified by email that you are. Seller's Description

Got this at a gun show. It is far, far outside my comfort zone, so look at the pictures, ask questions, and be forewarned.

That being said, I think this is a Bannerman conversion of a New York 1871 rolling block.

It has the tall hammer, and the half-cock safety. In other words, when cocked, and the block moved forward, you have to pull the hammer back another notch to fire it.

Near the muzzle, the barrel is stamped SA 05, with a flaming bomb. I think it is a 1903 surplus barrel. I don't really know.

I do know it is chambered in .30-06. I wouldn't fire it with standard .06 ammo. You'll want to rebarrel this or reload some really light loads for it.

The hammer, block and trigger seem to work as designed.

It is missing the firing pin and the extractor.

Again, I know next to nothing about these. Look at the pictures, ask questions, and bid accordingly.

The metal is covered with surface rust and plum patina.

It looks better in person than it does in the pictures, as the flash accentuates the blemishes. It does not look as good as you want it to.

It might be a good parts gun for your rolling block. The only missing parts that I can see are the firing pin and extractor. Springs are all in place and functional.

If you are a rolling block expert, and I have missed something, feel free to educate me with a message.

Please don't write to tell me to remove the listing as unsafe to fire. I know you don't want to load this with regular .30-06 ammo. That is stated in the description.

The bad part

It's a Bannerman conversion. It is not safe to fire in the current caliber.

And, it is missing the firing pin anyway.

The good part

I don't know, if you need parts, here you go.

I don't see any reason this wouldn't work with the missing parts replaced.

Is it guaranteed?

No. You will get the gun in the pictures. That's it. This is not my area of interest, and I don't want it back.

Bid accordingly.

Is this legal where I live?

I don't know. Call your local gun store, and ask them if they could transfer it to you.

I know it is legal in Oklahoma, but I can't speak for your jurisdiction.

If you have any questions, please ask before you bid.

Layaway

Layaway is available. You send me $50 or more by one week after auction end, and I'll hold the gun up to four months waiting for the rest. I won't hound you, but I won't remind you to make payments, either. I keep the gun until it's paid off. If you default, I will relist the gun and I will send back only half of whatever you have paid to that point.

payment

I can take credit card payments through paypal. You don't have to have an account with them; just let me know that's what you want to do, and I'll send you an invoice.

Paypal is cheaper than the credit card processor I used to use.

Checks and money orders are always welcome, just slower.

Trades

I am always interested in trades, but I want to come out ahead, so keep that in mind when you make your offer.

I am an FFL holder, and I have to have an FFL or C&R to ship to.

If your state allows, I can send this straight to your door. No FFL needed.

Please don't bid if this is not legal where you live.

In person transfers are always welcome, but understand that you still have to come to Del City, OK, to do the paperwork.

Shipping

Shipping is $30 on this one.

And, I will ship this the Saturday after your paper and payment arrive. That is my big, heavy boxes to the Post Office day.

I will insure the package for the full value of your bid. But, if you have to file a claim, that is between you as the recipient and the Post Office. I will be glad to send a scan of the receipt showing insurance paid for, but I will not deal with the Post Office paperwork for you.

Please ask any questions _before_ you bid.

I am registered with the California FFL check system. So, shipping to California is no problem as long as the gun is legal. Having said that... Wow, you guys need to get out and vote! The list of California legal guns is shrinking every day.

If you live in California, please check the legality of this gun before you bid. I've been having problems with people bidding and winning auctions that I can't then ship to them. I have to leave you a negative feedback to get my auction costs back, and you knock out the next in line bidder when you do that. Please do your research.

If I have to take a gun back because it isn't legal in your state, I will refund your cost minus shipping costs and auction costs on my part plus $10.00 for my trouble. You can avoid this unpleasantness by NOT BIDDING ON A GUN YOU CAN'T HAVE. Please check your laws before you bid
