- The new Museum of France is dedicated to the local prehistory and particularly in the Upper Paleolithic. Five museum areas are proposed: discoverers and archaeological findings, the human environment Paleolithic traces of man in the Lussacois the lives of men of Bois- Ragot, Man and Art. Bones, tools, weapons, jewelery items and furniture art carved on bone material and limestone are highlighted. Among these objects, stones engraved with animals and especially humans, treated realistically, discovered by the thousands in the only cave in the Marche busy Magdalenian period are works particularly original and remarkable.
- An external route is advisable to discover the closest prehistoric sites. Visiting conferences and events take place regularly.
- Hours:
- From June to September : Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 12pm and 14pm to 18pm.
- Small school holidays (zone B) : Tuesday to Saturday: 10am to 12pm and from 14h to 17h.
- Other periods: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 12pm and from 14h to 17h.
- Groups : Museum open all year by appointment for guided tours.
- Special closing: 1st January, 1st May, 8th May, 1 November, 11 November and 25 December.
