    It's a blind looker.

    I found that even with fine tuning and adjusting the sensitivity on it it would not detect a nail even when the nail was very obvious to the naked eye. Then at other times it would find it. Makes you a bit apprensive to run any tooling thru or over the wood for fear of ruining a blade or cutter head.
