Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania spoilers follow

Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania has now arrived on Disney+, and according to Marvel producer Stephen Broussard, it may not be the last outing for Scott Lang and his family as a fourth Ant-Man movie is in — very quiet — discussions. "We're already thinking about it."

"It's like, every movie's its own battle and you bear the scars of making it and wanting to make it great. But hope springs eternal and you start to put yourself back together after the journey of making the movie.

Broussard added that "whispers" of the fourth movie "have already started to happen between myself and Peyton and Kevin." So with that in mind, what do we know about the potential Ant-Man 4? Read on to find out.

Ant-Man 4 potential release date: When can we expect Ant-Man 4?

Even though they're talking about it, it's probably no surprise to learn there's no confirmed release date yet for Ant-Man 4.

There's plenty of spaces in Phase 6 where it could technically fit, but we have a feeling we'll have to wait until The Multiverse Saga wraps up to see a fourth Ant-Man movie.

Although Ant-Man characters will likely pop up in already-confirmed movies such as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. So that should give you your fix of Scott Lang and co until the new movie.

Ant-Man 4 cast: Who will return for Ant-Man 4?

Everyone of note survives, so that means Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton and Michael Douglas will likely return in an eventual fourth Ant-Man movie. However, Douglas has said he'd only appear in a fourth film if Hank died at the end, so get your tissues ready.

Corey Stoll finally met his actual demise, so that means there will be no return for MODOK. If we see the inhabitants of the Quantum Realm appear, we could be looking at cameos from William Harper Jackson and Katy O'Brian as Quaz and Jentorra respectively.

We could also, err, hear David Dastmalchian as the slimy (literally, he's very sweet really) sidekick Veb, whose 'ooze' allows people of different species to understand each other (like the babel fish in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy).

As for Kang, whether he would actually appear in a fourth Ant-Man and the Wasp movie is up in the air. The character is being set up as the big bad of Phase Five, meaning he may not appear in one of the one-off movies.

Also, there are currently questions about whether Jonathan Majors, who plays Kang in Quantumania, will return to the MCU at all, following his arrest in March when he was charged with assault following a domestic dispute. The actor appeared in court via Zoom on May 9, 2023 and is due back on June 13 (via Variety).

According to Variety, Majors has already been dropped from advertising campaigns and as the lead in the movie The Man In My Basement, so his involvement in any future Marvel projects remains to be seen, and there is always the possibility that the role of Kang may be recast for future movies.

Ant-Man 4 plot: What will Ant-Man 4 be about?

We have no idea! Unhelpfully, Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania is basically a long set-up for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty rather than another Ant-Man film – even the post credits scenes – so there's very little we can glean from Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania itself.

Instead of setting up an antagonist for Scott Lang and his band of insect-adjacent superheroes to go up against, we're stuck waiting for the eventual big bad of Phase Five. Another Ant-Man movie could focus on setting Cassie up as she heads towards her role in the eventual Young Avengers.

The possibilities seem boundless. Broussard added: "You're like, 'Yeah, what if we did X and what if we did Y?' Like the wheels start turning, you can't help yourself. I don't want to say anything about specifically what those are, but yeah, you can't help yourself."

Rudd himself told Empire: "I think there's more story to tell here ... They're having those conversations in rooms that I don’t have keys to."

He also has his own suggestion for a follow-up movie.

"It's like this regular guy who has no innate super ability whatsoever has now gone head-to-head with Thanos and Kang," Rudd said (via Yahoo! News). "I just feel like, cut the guy a break. Just let him sit on a beach somewhere. How much abuse can he take? How much punishment?"

“I do think this is a guy who really just wants to spend some time with his daughter. That would be nice. Maybe a nice quiet road movie. Just Scott and Cassie taking in a coastal city and just spending time [together]. Maybe like The Trip with [Steve] Coogan where there's no threat. There's nothing wanting to kill them. I don't know if Marvel would want to make that movie but it would be fun to shoot.”
