In his role as Chief Scientist, Paul Barford is responsible for envisioning and developing next generation technologies for MdotLabs. He attended Boston University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Dr. Barford is also a professor of Computer Sciences at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and founder of the Wisconsin Advanced
Internet Lab. He was the founder and CEO of Nemean Networks, a network security company, that was acquired by Qualys. His research interests are in Internet measurement, large data analytics, and Internet security.
Dr. Barford has many highly-cited research papers, is a frequent speaker and has served on numerous panels, editorial boards, organizing committees, and program committees (TPC co-chair of ACM SIGCOMM '13, ACM SIGMETRICS '10 and ACM IMC '06).
He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineeering from the University of Illinois and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Boston University.
