Description

The following specs were carefully collected and recorded by a skilled technician. For a more detailed description and questions regarding sound, feel, or cosmetic condition, please visit our Lincoln Avenue showroom or call to speak to one of our Used and Vintage experts.
Finish Details: The guitar has likely been oversprayed.
Body Material: Maple
Body Details: Arched maple back and maple sides, with arched spruce top. The binding has separated along a good majority of the body, and has begun to crumble in a few areas. There are a couple repaired cracks on the front of the treble shoulder. There is a slight shadow of three rectangles on the upper bass shoulder.
Neck Material: Maple
Fingerboard Material: Brazilian Rosewood
Neck Profile: "C" profile
Neck Thickness (IN): .95" (1st fret), 1.06" (10th fret)
Fingerboard Radius: 12.00"
Nut Width: 1-5/8"
Scale Length: 25 1/2"
Neck Details: Set-in three piece maple/mahogany/maple neck, with bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, V-block inlays, inlay strips running along the fingerboard edges, and headstock truss rod adjustment.
Electronics: Original Epiphone "New York" pickups, master volume and tone controls, and original 6 push-button control plate. The wiring harness is original, although the pot codes are obscured. The pickups are functional, although a direct measurement cannot be made.
Pickup Measurements: N/A due to wiring scheme
Hardware: Original. The pickguard is in good condition and has not deteriorated. The original Epiphone tuners are also in good condition, with intact knobs. The original hardware is in overall tarnished but functional condition.
Weight: 8lbs 10oz
Modifications/Repairs: The guitar has likely been oversprayed.
Case Details: Original Hardshell Case
Cosmetic Condition: This vintage Epiphone Zephyr shows heavy aging, with considerable finish wear, case rash, and checking throughout the body and neck. The body binding has degraded substantially, and will need to be reattached or replaced. The hardware is tarnished with age, and the back of the neck is worn nicely smooth. The heel cap is missing.
Serial Number: 65064
Tech Notes: The guitar is not currently in a playable state, and is being sold as a vintage restoration project or for parts. The tuners, electronics, pickguard, bridge, tailpiece, and other original parts are all in worn but functional condition. The guitar would benefit from a neck reset, and will need considerable work to repair the binding and restore the instrument. The frets are narrow and low with moderate play wear, and the truss rod is functional. The construction appointments and serial number date the guitar to 1952-1953. This guitar is being sold in As-Is condition.
