April 6, 2024 - Mostly spices and tertiary notes.
I drank this over lunch and had some left for dinner. Best upon opening, it had fallen apart in the evening.
Another disappointing experience with a bottle from this famed vintage.

November 11, 2021 - Served blind. Cassis and violets on the nose. Initially thinking maybe this is a Margaux but mid-palate is light and lacks density and concentration. Comes over as young. An interesting wine.

April 19, 2021 - Deep Ruby. Earthy notes, mushroom, truffle, spices, plum, blackberries. Medium Acidity. Full bodied. Complex. Strong but not so well structured tannins. Long, intense finish.

March 11, 2021 - On opening, the first sniff was really surprising - no oak, no chocolate, no deep, rich aromas, on the contrary, a wonderfully fresh smell of spring flowers, followed by sweet cherry, violets and a hint of plum. The first sip was just as disconcerting - very fresh and fruity, like a Chinon, blueberry, blackcurrant and cherry, not at all cloying, but then it morphed into something else - cough mixture, with a very hot after-taste which slides down the back of the throat. Going back for more, the attack tasted slightly weak compared to the hot finish, giving the impression of something unbalanced. Not bad, but I've had better Côtes de Castillon for a lot less.

All in all, not the disaster I feared but nothing special either, especially at the price. The best thing about this was the bouquet.
