Originally derived from the French tenue du leopard or “lizard” design from the 1950s, the Tiger Stripe pattern came into the picture in the 1960s. The design was inspired to blend with the jungles of Southeast Asia, more specifically the Republic of Vietnam.  

 Tiger stripe was unique in the realm of patterns, a variety of color integration with brown, black, and various greens, and its disruptive horizontal stripe pattern.
