Searching for a slinky pop track to start 2015 on the right foot? Marina and the Diamonds have you covered: “Immortal,” from the Welsh singer-songwriter’s upcoming third album Froot, is a contemplative stunner focused on the undying power of love. The video for the final song on the Froot track list has been given a hypnotic music video that reverberates heavy Lana Del Rey vibes over its five-minute-plus running time.
“If I could buy forever at a price/I would buy it twice, twice,” Marina Diamandis sings on the track, which darkens the fizzy electro-pop of the 29-year-old’s previous two albums. The video, which finds Marina swaying in front of projected home videos and reaching out to the memories, has garnered over 300,000 YouTube views since its release on Wednesday (Dec. 31).

“Sad to think of the horrors so many good people went through there but they deserve our attendance to keep their memories alive,” Diamandis wrote under the “Immortal” song lyrics, which she shared on her official website earlier this week.
Froot is due out worldwide on Apr. 6 through Neon Gold/Atlantic, and has been preceded by the title track and the ballad “Happy.” Marina and the Diamonds’ last album, Electra Heart, was released in 2012.
