Bohdan Butenko (1931 - 2019) is known for Draftsman, illustrator, graphic designer.

Bohdan Butenko was born in 1931 in Bydgoszcz. Butenko became a Draftsman, illustrator and graphic artist, author of comics and books, screenwriter, designer of puppets and decorations for puppet theaters. In 1955, Butenko graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Jan Marcin Szancer, and that year he began his artistic career as an art editor at the Nasza Ksiegarnia publishing house. He collaborated with many publishers and magazines for children and youth - "Mis", "Plomyczek", "Plomyk", "Swierszczyk". His illustrations have appeared in over 250 books, as well as in "Swiat Mlodych". He is the creator of well-known comic characters - Gapiszon and Kwapiszon by his own authorship and Gucio and Cezar. Gapiszon is one of the most famous Polish comic book heroes, who was also filmed. In Poland, Butenki's works have repeatedly won the title of the Most Beautiful Book of the Year by the Polish Society of Book Publishers and the title of the Book of the Year.
