Works well. Best mounted overhead.
I installed this today for my nervous daughter, who gets anxious when parking in the garage. She often pulls in too far and leaves me no room at my workbench at the far end of my garage. I thought about the "tennis ball on a string" but that gets in the way when the garage bay is empty. When I saw this product on Amazon, I figured I'd give it a try. I first mounted it on the back wall of the garage, but the angle of the laser beams cuts their brightness when they shine at an angle, out and down. The laser dots didn't show up well enough. I moved the unit to directly over her car, which allowed me to plug it in by the overhead door opener socket, using a 3-way plug adapter. I mounted it to an existing hanging storage shelf using zip ties. The unit is in the perfect place to be activated by the motion of the garage door opening and/or her car pulling in. I have the lasers set to put 2 dots on the dash, about an inch from the inside edge when she's parked correctly. The two dots are great in case she pulls in a little left or right. I could use one of the lasers for my wife's car as well, but she's been parking in that garage for 20 years and has no qualms about car position. Overall, this product does exactly what it's advertised to do. It does function using 3 AAA batteries (which I used for testing and positioning) but the included AC/DC adapter means I don't have to get up on a ladder to change batteries.

This unit comes with easy to understand direction on how to mount and use it. I debated whether to install it on the garage ceiling or the facing wall. I chose to mount it on the wall because it was easy and there was a convenient power outlet available. It was a pleasant surprise how easy it was to mount and start using. It took me more time to precisely aim the lasers. Using it is easy. I pointed both lasers (single car garage) to a spot on the dashboard and it worked for me. The proximity sensor switch performed flawlessly, turning on when needed and turning off when no motion is detected. After using it a couple of weeks, the only thing I unable to talk about is its durability, but given that it is such a low cost item, I have no concerns. Nice product and would recommend it.
