Product Description

INGREDIENTS: Water, sodium chloride, acetic acid, sodium acetate, extra heat labile microbial coagulant. DIRECTIONS: This rennet is DOUBLE STRENGTH PLUS. Start by using 1/3 as much as recipe calls for and adjust as needed. Dilute required amount of rennet in 20 times its volume of cool, potable water. Add immediately into milk and stir for 2 minutes to thoroughly distribute. STORAGE: Store rennet in refrigerator.

I love the product I was looking for a vegetable rennet for a while and finally found the perfect one, I used it to curdled the milk it became like plan yogurt, and I made cheese.

No joke about this being double strength rennett. I'm a newbie cheese maker and this is my first purchase of rennet. Gosh what a difference it makes. Previously, I'd wait overnight for the curd to set up. Now I have to pay attention because it sets so quickly! It works just as it should. I like that it's vegetable based and organic. I made the mistake of using 2 drops when I should have only used 1 and have now learned my lesson on how powerful this rennet is.

Tip: For making smaller batches using less milk or for a softer set requiring less than 1 drop of this double strength rennet, simply add the drop rennet to ¼ cup water and only add half of the rennet water to your milk. I divide the rennet water into a separate cup before adding it to the milk to avoid accidentally pouring too much. Just be sure the rennet is mixed thoroughly into the water before dividing.

This stuff works well and will last a long, long time.

I'm new to making cheese. This is my first month. This renet has been super. Be aware not to use chlorinated water with it. I just boiled my filtered water and keep a glass bottle of it available when I need it.

This is my 2nd or 3rd purchase. I make cold start Icelandic style yogurt in my instant pot. As long as I use the correct amount, my yogurt comes out creamy, delicious and packed with protein. I tried the tablets once to save a few $. Never again!
Just be sure to keep it refrigerated.

we had to use the triple of the amount recommended to see coagulation on the milk. I feel the end results were not great as well. I probably won't buy this again.

I had purchased this (along with https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B075831WD8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) to pursue my amateur cheese making dreams. I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never made cheese or used rennet before, but it worked perfectly. It is a fairly small bottle, but, a minimal amount is needed for each batch of cheese (1/6 tsp per gallon of milk). In the first picture you can compare size wise with the bag of citric acid and a normal sized cereal bowl. It dissolves well in water (second picture) and does not have any undesired odor or color in the cheese. Again, it worked perfectly in making mozzarella cheese (third and fourth pictures). Amazon states it should last 1 year stored in a fridge, so I should get plenty of use out of it before it expires/runs out. I would purchase this again.
