Great tool, love the feel and the grip. Just needs a little sharpening out of the box if you want a razor edge, but that's fairly easy to do. Only took me about 15 mins with a sharpening stone to achieve that. Someone else mentioned it would be nice if it had a leather mask, especially one that could attach to your belt..but the plastic cover for hanging it is still decent. I searched hard for a good hatchet around 18"-20" and this was by far the best deal

I use this is a general use hatch around my yard. I don't worry about taking that great of care of this... it is my "get it done" tool. I use it to chop roots of bushes or trees while in the ground and break up branches that fall after storms. It came sharp enough to handle these types of jobs and I haven't sharpened it yet this summer.

It is nice to have a tool I'm not afraid to get dirty or beat up.

Overall a great yard tool for me.

Very similar to Lexivon 18" chopping axe, another good choice. Textured grip is a bit thinner than the Lexivon, and grinds on blade not quite as good. Still a good choice in this 18" size, and sale price was a couple dollars less than the Lexivon.

This is the perfect size for us... not too heavy and not too big and bulky. The grip is indeed no-slip. You can use this thing all day and it ain't gonna slip out of your hands, ever. But it also just feels perfect in the hand. Made for me. Helps tremendously with our outdoor chores. Durable construction yet light enough for someone strong or someone not so strong to use with ease.

Good looking axe to boot. And we definitely appreciate the safety covering it comes with!

The hatch is light weight. It works well on small limbs and branches. In my opinion, it did need some sharpening when it arrived. Most of these type tools do though, when you first purchase them.

The handle is comfortable and easy to fold onto. It is easy to get a good grip. The hatchet is well balanced and easy to swing. It's very handy to have.

This small hatchet and emergency hammer is really heavy and well made. Couldn't believe the sturdiness of the handle and head attachment. Handle has good texture and feel, no worry about it slipping if wet. This one goes in our emergency box! If you need one for everyday use, this is the one to buy.
