Heated Rechargeable Electric InsolesFIRST IMPRESSIONS: These heated insoles come with a USB split cable so you can charge two insoles from one socket.  Included is a one page simple instruction sheet and a small remote.I have been trying to get heated socks for  long time but I have always been dubious of the size and or materials.  The heated socks I have seen available on Amazon say things like, "one size fits all, women size 4 to size mens size 15."  Well, I know that somebody in that range is going to have an uncomfortable sock. TESTING:  The remote control lets you set the insoles up and down in units of 1 degree.  I turned them on at the highest setting of 150 deg F and took the temperature after it would not increase any more.  My laser thermometer could not get a reading higher than 130.8 deg F anywhere on either insole.USE:  I need these for snowblowing while sat outside on a garden tractor for 2-4 hours at a time.  I ordered the large size as I wear a size US 11 (EU 45) and plan to use these in rubber, cold weather insulated rubber/neoprene muck boots.  The numbering on the back of the where to cut for different shoes sizes don't make much sense.  I know US size 11 is EU45, but on the back of the insole it states EU45 is size 14.  So please, if you cut the insoles, do not follow the lines and sizes on the back of the insoles.I tried fitting these insoles in some size 11 muck boots and a pair of size 11 winter thermal boots and the insoles fit without having to cut any off.CONCLUSION: I do like these and they work, and will suit my needs for the reasons I want them so I have to rate them as such.  However if I had got them for walking as opposed to driving a garden tractor I am not sure how comfortable they would be as the heel part is extremely hard where the battery is.They do have some issues. My insoles kept losing connection with the remote, so you have to go through a pairing process to get the insoles to communicate with the remote.  As you have to keep pressing a tiny button on the back of the heel to turn them on and then fix any connection issues I would turn them on and make sure they are heating up before placing them in your boots and venturing outside.REVIEW PHILOSOPHY: I only review a product if it is something I am capable of critically evaluating through comparison, testing and use. This means I have experience of using similar items; or that I have equipment or tools that I can test it with; or that I have an upcoming need so I can actually use.  I am as selective about getting an item to review as I would be about purchasing that same item, so yes, I expect it to be a good product.  My reviews are NOT based on packaging or if it was delivered timely.

These worked great when I first got them, 3 months later the batteries will not charge. With a chintzy warranty (3 months) I have no recourse. They were very stiff and hard to remove from boots when this was needed for charging. I would not get them again as I bought a different pair that are softer and simpler to remove for charging.

These heated soles are a bit thick -- well, really thick in the back where the battery is under the sole of your foot.
My most pertinent observation is that these will not fit into well fitted shoes or boots; you need oversized footwear with extra space in order to fit both the heated sole and your foot into your footwear. If you don't own footwear like that you likely don't want to buy this product without also buying new footwear.

They fit inside my boots just fine without any modifications. I wear a size 9, but it seems my boots have extra room inside for thick socks or something. So, I didn't have to trim anything. The instructions for trimming are quite clear and the lines on the insoles are quite obvious, so if I had to I'm sure trimming wouldn't have been a problem.

The "rise" caused by the thickness at the heel is a bit uncomfortable. My original insoles were only 1/8" thick. These claim to be about 3/4" thick, but I measured them to be only about 1/2" thick. Even so, the additional lift is noticeable. It might be more pronounced because the battery is in the heel and makes them quite stiff.

I can't say that the original insoles gave much cushion. I think that the majority of the cushion I felt was actually in the thick socks I wore. These insoles take up most of the room that was previously available to wear thick socks and they don't provide any cushion. I'm expecting these might be fairly uncomfortable standing on them for any length of time.

I used an infrared sensor to measure the temperature of these insoles. I set them on high and waited about 15 minutes. They only got to about 130. Even then, they seemed to struggle to stay that warm. Inside my boot, surrounded by insulation, they didn't do any better. At room temperature (70), the unheated boot was... wait for it.... 70. The boot with a heater in it was 82. With one foot in the unheated boot and one foot in the heated boot, I could tell only a slight difference between the warmth of the two feet. Having said that, I understand that your feet are less sensitive than other areas of the body... which is why I was using measuring devices rather than just relying on my senses.

I also measured the temperature of my toes after sitting with the two boots on. One boot with a heater, the other without. The heated toes measured 86, while the unheated toes measured only 72.

I also understand that I'm testing these heaters at room temperature. The true test will be how well they warm my feet when it's below 0.

But in general, I'm disappointed that there wasn't a more dramatic temperature difference with the heater set on High.

I have a particular need for selecting these foot warmers. I have a damaged tendon in my left foot. Consequently that foot is cold all the time. It can get to be so cold that it hurts. I've tried many ways to deal with this problem.

I've tried tow warmer strips or packets. I used a plastic dishpan with warm water. While watching TV I wrap the foot with a heating pad. I've tried heated slippers (with wires), and heated socks. With these heated insoles I feel like I finally have the best solution.

My left foot is size 9 1/2, regular width. I was able to slide the foot warmer into my UGG slippers without needing to trim the insole. The slippers have enough room so that when adding the insole there is still ample room for my foot.

Charging isn't quick. I will plug them in each night so they will be ready for the next day. I don't need to wear them all day, just when I'm sitting for a long time. For example after dinner up until midnight so about 6 hours. So far it seems the battery (built into the heal) will last that long.

Once charged I slip the insole into my slipper, then use the little remote to switch them on. I don't know how long it takes to heat up but it isn't quick. I just put them in, turn them on setting the heat to 150 degrees. Some time later, perhaps an hour, I've forgotten about my foot (this is a good thing) and realize it is actually a bit too warm. Marvelous. I turn them down to 120 and enjoy them the rest of the evening.

What makes these insoles better than heated socks is the sock battery is in the top of the sock with wires running down to the foot. That can feel awkward and I would sometimes end up with the battery pinched under my leg. These insoles are just more straight-forward and simple to use.

Pros:
- Easy to handle for charging and when in use
- Enough battery charge for my needs
- Can use one or both foot heaters
- The wireless remote just works. No paring or connecting.

Cons:
- Won't work with shoes that have little room to spare. The heal, where the battery is kept, is almost 1/2" thick. The toe area tapers so isn't as thick.
- Slow charge time
- Sturdy design
- There is a little discomfort while walking with these installed. Not enough to bother me as I don't walk with them in for any distance.

I recommend these foot heaters
