On the section talking about what temperature to hold the snake at it claims you should heat 1/3 of the tank to 90-95⁰. Then says you can "safely DROP" the temperature to 90-95⁰. Lower it? To the same temperature? Seriously a HUGE typo on vital information for snake care. And that's not the only one. Waste of money.

This book is an excellent reference for someone who's getting their first ball python. It has information on selection, feeding, general care and husbandry, troubleshooting, and a lot of information on color morphs and the associated genetics. I enjoyed the book a lot, and learned a few things from it (even though I've been keeping and occasionally breeding snakes since the early '90's). No ball python owner should be without this book.

Actually, all the books in this series and by this author are excellent. If you find a book on your animal by Philippe De Vosjoli, you absolutely can't go wrong dropping the coin to get it. Highly recommended.

Second, quite a few of the recommendations are going against a lot of other resources I’d found in my searches online and other readings. The author didn’t address any of the other thoughts out there, particularly about husbandry, to debunk, question or provide insight into why this book recommended the things it did., thus it left me with more questions than answers. Therefore I didn’t feel I could trust the information enough. Hence, it wasn’t so helpful for me.
