I recently got my hands this cultivator tiller, and let me tell you, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. It's like that trusty old lawnmower that starts on the first pull—reliable and efficient, but when it comes to hard clay, packed dirt, or areas with stones, it falls a bit short. It's like trying to use a kitchen whisk to mix concrete—it's just not the right tool for the job. If you're working with softer soil, this cultivator tiller is a dream, but for tougher terrain, you might want to consider a beefier machine. Overall, it's a solid choice for light tilling, but it might leave you wanting more when the going gets tough. But it still deserves 5 stars.

I got this tool because I have some back issues and it's the season to turn over the soil in my small vegetable garden. The wheeled design of this cultivator makes it easier to use, feeling much less labor-intensive compared to traditional gardening tools. It has seven tines that can penetrate deeply into the soil, turning up roots, weeds, and all in one go, which is a godsend for someone with back problems like me. While it's durable and efficient, I feel it could be a bit lighter, which might make it more user-friendly for some.

I've wanted to try my hand at growing some veggies or maybe some flowers. I've used smaller tools before but always found them lacking in efficiency and not quite up to the task of properly turning the soil. Then purchased this one. This cultivator has 7 tines, great for digging into and breaking up the soil, making it nice and loose for plants to thrive. The manual operation brings me closer to nature, feeling like I'm having a direct conversation with the earth. It's also not as tiring to use as I thought it would be. It's ergonomically designed, comfortable to hold, and even after using it for a good stretch, my hands don't feel overly fatigued.

I often need to crush up the dirt around my planting areas. They get hard very often and can settle in place quickly. To ensure that the plants have a stable growth, I got this tool. It can easily crush the dirt even when it’s quite deep. The wheels make it super easy to transport around as well. Using the 2 in 1 build, I get a much better result and effect. This has been highly effective for my plants.

This "spade/cultivator" works ok for a very limited range of applications. First, the instructions make it clear that hard clay or hard packed soil or stones (larger) severely limit the use of this tool. Grandma still picks up her garden spade but this is too bulky and heavy for use by little old ladies, children or old fogies. In soil with distributed mulch it works in ideal garden conditions. (I don't have that). Even with the fulcrum lift, 14" deep bites are a load. I don't think I could use it for more than an hour.
It is easy to assemble and because of sharp prongs, the packaging in which it arrived had been punctured through in more than one place. The primary tines are well tapered but are subject to a torsion load that will likely start bending sideways with use. It certainly won't replace my spade nor my rototiller.

UPDATE and downgrade
To be fair, I used it our garden (it's been spaded and tilled for 40 years) for 20 minutes. Although it CAN go deeper than our spade, I had to reduce the "bite" size to about 2" in order to leverage and crumble that small bite. After 20 minutes, I was seeing stars, but only two of them. Now to find a fair way to make it disappear.
