I purchased a very expensive iron after a bunch of articles recommended it. I will take on a sewing project here and there and wanted something that was beefy and good at the minutia, but it broke within a week. Sorely disappointed, especially with their return policy.

This one does what it's meant to do. I probably should have bought it to begin with. It heats up very fast and spreads steam evenly. It's light enough that I can use the very tip ironing the smallest corner with precision. Great purchase.

Bought this item replace my Pur Steam 1700W iron which began to make crackling sounds and the light made rapid transitions from green to red.

Anyway, about this item:
Pros:
-low cost
-light weight
-instructions ask for tap water

Cons:
-no steam button; there is a constant production of steam so the water is used up quickly; there is however a button to spray water onto the garment.
-small water compartment.
-water entry point has no cover so take care to not fill past the fill line otherwise you will have some water come out as you use it, especially if your ironing technique is quick at the wrist.
-loud operation; this item makes a loud gargling sound, likely because there is no water port cap and because it is constantly producing steam.
-although instructions call for tap water, i notice sand-like particles collecting at the steam outputs; sometimes it accumulates so much that streaks of dirt(?) are left of my clothes; you need to wipe clean the hot surface of any deposits of dirt/sand(?); I don't know what to call it but it is likely due to the tap water being used; I have not used distilled water but I wonder if I should use that instead.
-the hot plate doesn't get as hot as my previous iron (PurSteam 1700W) so the clothes require a few more pass throughs to get the wrinkles out.
