I love this brand- in addition to the bench I also bought the coat hanger as shown in the pictures. The bench was easy to assemble and is nice heavy wood. Love the look- you can compare it to much more expensive brands. I love the brand so much I also bought a sofa table and shelving unit for my front entry way. Highly recommend!!

If you want a bench that is sturdy and made of solid wood and not manufactured wood products, this is a good deal. It's too dark for my taste, but it could be sanded and stained lighter. If you want fancier legs, you could try "hammered-look" paint on the legs. And you could try a wax finish to get a very smooth feel yet rustic look. I've contemplated making my own bench to get just what I want, but this is nice for the price and a lot less work. I may refinish it when I have time, but it looks nice enough for my foyer that I can use it just as it is. It's hard to tell what kind of wood this is made of. There is a tag that says "made in Viet Nam" and "bolton furniture". I like the fact that it has height adjusters on the bottom of the legs. I may buy another one at this good price.
Well... I did it. I sanded the bench and used a dremel tool to get into some of the deeper dark grooves. The wood is yellowish underneath all the dark stain. Then I stained it and put a wipe-on polyurethane. I will then wax it to make it really soft and smooth. The dark stain is impossible to get completely off without sanding off all the texture. I like the lighter wood but that leaves this bench with high contrasting black streaks. This could be a nice effect too, but it wasn't what I was going for (at this time). I used a medium dark stain (ipswich pine and red chestnut). This bench would also look great with a darker stain which would make the dark streaks even less noticeable. Or it could be made to look like driftwood with a grey stain. This wood is solid and thick. I had to use #60 sandpaper . Fun project. I recommend this bench.

Our entryway is narrow. I was looking for a bench no wider than 13” which was hard to find. The bottom shelf and legs of this bench are recessed, allowing it to sit perfectly in our narrow entryway while guests can sit more comfortably on the wider seat area to take off or put on their shoes. The material is solid wood, so it’s a heavy duty bench that should last. There are some discoloration in a few areas, but they don’t distract it from being a good-looking and quality bench.

I love this bench! It was the easiest thing I have ever assembled. 10 bolts that screw the shelves into the metal base; that's all you gotta do. I'm using it as a TV stand as it is the perfect dimensions for my space. Great looking solid wood, and it's extremely sturdy. Couldn't recommend it enough. It looks and feels very expensive, so I am extremely happy with the price point as well. :)
