Remembering and Reclaiming Diakonia: The Diaconate Yesterday and Today

John Chryssavgis was born in Australia and studied at the Universities of Athens (Greece) and Oxford (England). He served as the sub-dean of the St Andrew's Theological College in Australia. He also was a Lecturer in the Divinity School at the University of Sydney and Professor of Theology at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. He is the author of several books and numerous articles on the Church Fathers and Orthodox spirituality. He is an ordained deacon of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and serves as a theological advisor to His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
