For many years, Judith Friebert (has focused on depicting family-owned dairy farms. As a child, she accompanied her parents—the Milwaukee artists Joseph and Betsy Ritz Friebert—on sketching trips in the countryside.

Mark Mulhern: The Pleasure of Seeing features over 30 works—paintings and monotypes—spanning more than 40 years of the career of Milwaukee-based artist, Mark Mulhern. Widely recognized for his vibrant palette and unconventional compositions, this exhibition highlights Mulhern’s ongoing commitment to abstraction, figuration, and color in a wholly personal, inventive way.

At once installation, sculpture, and architectural form, this building like structure with a title in the Oneida language was designed for the 2023 Chicago Architectural Biennial. An accompanying land acknowledgment statement reminds visitors that the building stands on what was once indigenous land.

Is it safe to visit the museum during COVID?
We care deeply about the health and safety of our members and staff. To help ensure that safety, we follow current CDC and Wisconsin Department of Health recommendations. At this time masks are OPTIONAL.

Where can I park?
You can park in the free public lot just south of the museum or on the street along Veterans Avenue. You can even leave your car there while you explore downtown West Bend after your visit with us.
