Review: The Gunman
Sean Penn has always been a force to be reckoned with, but his starring role in The Gunman shows us a side of the actor we have never seen.
Penn portrays a sniper (Terrier) who completes a secret mission which comes back to haunt him placing his life and those from his past in danger. The very hit squad from the Congo who worked with in the past comes for him in an attempt to save their own necks, cover their tracks and the cushy lives that they have all enjoyed since the Congo incident.
Based on a novel by Jean-Patrick Manchette, it is thrill a minute and I found myself holding my breath waiting for the next big moment to go down.
My sexy dream boyfriend Javier Bardem plays a bad boy so deliciously that it’s hard to hate him and Penn’s love interest Jasmine Trinca as Annie had very few lines, but her face said it all for her most effectively. My favorite moment of all time was watching a very fit Penn surfing in the Congo. It was Spicoli (Fast Times At Ridgemont High) grown up and living another chapter…I loved it!!!
The Gunman opened in theaters this past weekend and trust me it is well worth the duckets you will plop down to check it out!!!
