Founded on the outskirts of the Barolo region's in 1991, Elvio Cogno established his winery with twenty-plus years of experience making wine at Marcarini in La Morra and a real insight into the potential of overlooked vineyards. With this astute perspective, Cogno developed his estate around the historic but not yet celebrated cru of Ravera in Barolo's northwestern commune of Novello. Cogno's son-in-law, Valtere Fissore, is at the helm armed with a degree in enology and experience that actually dates back to Cogno's tenure at Marcarini. Fissore focuses his Dolcetto, sourced from the hilltops of Ravera, on freshness with an easy approachability despite its youth.
