Coco Austin hits back at parenting trolls: Everybody’s a ‘hypocrite’

Coco Austin blasted online trolls for judging how she and husband Ice-T choose to parent their 6-year-old daughter, Chanel.

“They’re like, on me,” Austin exclusively told Page Six Monday at Heidi Klum’s 21st annual Halloween party, adding, “But the thing is, everybody’s a hypocrite I feel because they do certain weird things in their house.”

She said that she didn’t see why there was so much controversy about her parenting choices, specifically recent backlash against her putting Chanel in a stroller and bathing her in the kitchen sink.

“I don’t think that bathing my daughter in the sink is weird. If I have a huge-ass sink, why not? It’s just easier for me,” she said, “And if I have to carry her everywhere and it’s just easier to bring a stroller, why not? She’s petite, she’s super small, and it’s easier.”

Austin continued, “I just don’t understand. Why go after me over something so stupid? It’s a stroller. It’s our baby in a sink. Like, come on people, next thing you’re going to say, ‘Oh, you’re kissing her wrong,’ you know?”

She also told us she’s “very careful because everybody says I do play the sexy mom role, they’re always looking at me under a microscope.”

The swimsuit model asserted that she “knows what’s right and wrong” for her daughter and is very protective of Chanel.

“I’m very, very protective of her, and going after me for these little things while there’s war? I’m like, ‘Really guys, you’re gonna go after me?’ Does that even make sense?” she asked.

She even has to monitor what her daughter posts online now that she’s old enough to do so without the assistance of her mom.

“Chanel really likes social media right now and it’s scary just to see she’s very innocent about the world,” Austin shared. “In my eyes, there are things that I have to crank down and be like, ‘Babe, the world won’t see it the way you see it.’ We see it but can’t post it.”

She continued, “Chanel knows how to post before asking me now so I don’t know what will be posted before and I’m not worried what she might post but what other people might think of the postings.”

Austin said that Chanel enjoys emulating how other people on social media dance.

“There was a really sexy dance and I was like, ‘Yo, where did that come from?’ Because that was not from me,” Austin recalled. “Everyone’s going to say it’s from me, but that wasn’t from me…She watches all these TikTokers and she wants to emulate them.”

Questlove DJ’ed and Klum’s 18-year-old daughter, Leni, made her Heidi Halloween party debut.

The spooky soirée, sponsored by Now Screaming x Prime Video and Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur, was held at Tao Group Hospitality’s new restaurant Sake No Hana inside the Moxy hotel on the Lower East Side.
