A .32 Webley revolver Darra made copy

Craftsmen in Darra used to make these .32 bore Webley revolver copies, mostly in the 70’s. It was the time pistols weren’t as popular as they are today. Also at them time .32 was the most easily available caliber, and hence most popular. The Darra boys achieved almost perfection in making these revolvers. It was a time when many a Khan would be seen wearing one cross chest sort of holster which would be hanging to his left, just parallel to the waistline.

Would you buy a “made in Pakistan” weapon?

If someone was to ask me this question, I would say, short answer “no” and long answer “yes”. The short answer No is something I have been writing about for a long long time now when I write about guns, that is. The reasons are simple and basic, and its not about the cost, its about your own safety, and more importantly about your life. A weapon that is a copy of some famous known brand, like Glock, Beretta or some Turkish Zigana, is made of God knows what material, has not passed the quality control checks except for firing it once with half a magazine and thence declaring it a “Go” is not a standard that could in any way rate a weapon as reliable or safe. Modifying my Lee Enfield No4 Mk1

Sometime back I bought a Lee Enfield No4 Mk1 rifle commonly called as the, three knot three (.303) rifle here in Pakistan. It is a good weapon of its times, very robust and sturdy. But as far as looks are concerned, its a total looser. I badly wanted to sporterize it, to improve its looks, make it lighter and put a scope on it. So I started work on it, as a project. After some efforts I was able to reduce its weight and spruce up its looks by removing the top portion of front end guard. I also sanded the stock and gave it a coating of linseed oil. The rifle was better looking but not very impressive.
