This place is weird. We came here because its close to the hotel. Its a tourist trap and the guide was basically begging us to buy bottles and was pretty agressive about it. To the point is was really awkward. We spent about 100$ (a bottle of tequila) and a 30$ tip. And the tour guide made us feel really weird for only spending 100$. The tour was a 15 minute speech, theres no distillery here or agave plants etc. Its just a money grab. I guess its a cool stop over after an excursion, but I dont reccomend going there just to go

We had a great time and the tour was very informative. CHECK your purchase BEFORE you leave!!!! When done I purchased 2 bottles....one chocolate and one reposado.... they were wrapped for travel so I didn't check...when we got home...I opened the packages and received COCONUT and CAPPUCCINO..... ICK!!! Lesson learned

We toured here as part of a package and if you're not aware, this IS NOT a commercial distillery and they tell that this is a scaled down example of the process. I watched a documentary several years ago, and our tour was spot on and was less than 15 minutes. But of course, the highlight is the sampling.
The one thing I thought was a bit odd, is they started with their superb anejo. You'll find it's pricey (I'd say it's a safe bet you could get it in town for less) but my non connoisseur taste buds REALLY liked this! Extremely smooth and flavorful. The reposado that followed seemed a bit harsh by comparison.
The 5 or so liqueurs that followed were tasty, too. I'd replace my Kahlua with their Capacino if I didn't have my bar stuffed with it already.
I was about to pass on any purchases since the anejo was $69 USD. But the wife enjoyed the capacino so much she got that (a half bottle was offered free) and treated me to the anejo.
Be sure to tip your guide (ours was a hoot!) supporting his 10 (wink, wink) kids.

We visited this distillery as part of our resort's free tour. It was fun tasting 7-8 different tequilas with our tour group. We ended up buying 3 bottles to get the fourth for free. Unfortunately we didn't double-check what they grabbed and wrapped for us. Two of them were of the wrong flavor and we had left Mexico already. Do check before they wrap it!
