I was there on a Saturday night in May and they had a jazz concert going. Call them and I’m sure they can confirm if they have live music every Saturday.

If you love music, vibes and the New Orleans meets France on the way to Miami sound this is the place for you. I LOVED IT!! They played the standards and classic jazz set after set adding new musicians as the night went on. It was organized music yet freestyle waiting for the next hep cat to finish his shift at the local _________ (?), to chiime into the smooth grooves.
This place is inviting, clean, and MUSICAL. There is a small menu enough to satisfy but the music will feed your soul! Additionally there is a wine cellar where you can make your own choice. The prices are fair and the staff friendly. It was worth visiting the seedy side of town. You know any music worth its weight is in DA HOOD! Le Chat Noir is a MUST!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 2018
Plan B is the place to be! Le Chat Noir was not my destination tonight but was what I was looking for. I love finding small jazz clubs and lounge. The jazz performance was in the wine cellar. There were a small stage and much setting. "Listen and Silence has the same letters". These would have signs posted in the room. Just like what I'm just too in Indy at the Jazz Kitchen, no speaking -only listening in the audience. Yes, please! Let's enjoy our music.
Wine starts at $12, beer at $9. I stuck with the beer. On this nights a trio group was playing - patio, bass, and drums. I just came in at the end of the first set. The waiter was friendly and helpful.
Of course, the jazz was great! The room gave a great sound for all the band members. Even at the back of the room, I knew I had a great earful of each note being played.
I will be the first to admit. I'm a little judgemental; I saw the familiar poster with the clubs name and black cat, thus wanting to find something wrong with the owner for having such a name. I despise witchcraft and superstitions. But on the music break, I looked up the rich history behind the name and the series of clubs followings. I learned so much about jazz clubs origins in this brief research! I clutch my pearls at this uncultured ignorance I had! I respect the owner for utilizing the name "Le Chat Noir" as a sign to others of authentic jazz entertainment. This location meets its mark!
Surely a great find for live jazz in downtown Miami.due to their schedule, I won't be able to stop by again (Not open on Sun or Mon) so I'm very happy I came in tonight!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 20, 2019
Great jazz bar in the heart of Miami. Underground with very dim lights makes you feel as if u were not in Miami. The ham Serrano was great and the concept of going to the wine cellar to pick your wine is really cool! Great service and atmosphere! A must for music lovers

Downtown Miami isn't just for Ultra anymore. Smalls, Birdland and Blue Note? Well, a player's gotta get their start somewhere. And you can say you knew them when! Yes - live music jazz has made its way to Miami. After the street metered parking and a few security guard-like glances behind me, I found a table. Intimate place. The kind that keeps it 60 degrees so you can have your wine bottle adequately chilled. If you run cold, pack a sweater. And the waiter will remember you. Nothing like bringing your Mom to the place only to have the waiter tell her that he remembers you and you drink anything/wink/nudge. Sheesh. House manager seems delighted to be a part. Don't let the empty upstairs section fool you. The party is down in the basement. Acoustics are out of this world. Just awesome. Stellar cheese plates and sandwiches. Extra olive oil and/or vinaigrette? They have that, too!
If you're feeling non-committal, the house red or white are just fine. Otherwise, it's as great a place as any to get wine adventurous.
$10 Cover automatically adds to your tab. Support local artists!
Pro-tip:
It's in downtown - near the Macy's. There's street metered parking. Have your wits about you!Helpful 25Thanks 0Love this 24Oh no 0 - 8974422433Feb 20, 2017Updated review
I returned to celebrate the National Drinking Wine Day and listen to Brazilian Jazz.
I called before going to make sure I would be able to bring my own wine, Alex told me "no problem", it was a $20 corkage and I also brought my own wine's glasses since the one they have are extremely small.
We were greeted nicely, picked the table we wanted to sat at and start enjoying the low light, romantic environment.
To avoid being told to shut up we elected to chat via phone, so we was able to keep communication without disturbing others and the performers!
Service was nice, faster than previous visit, and friendly. Charges were as expected, and best of all; the music was spectacular... thus isn't enough, let me say it right:
MUSIC WAS SPECTACULAR!!!!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0Dec 23, 2015Previous reviewWe went a month ago looking for good music, wine and small plates. A $10 per person was charged upon arrival, it was Saturday night and party of 5.
Let me start with the good things; everybody was friendly and Jazz was fantastic. The selection of wines is acceptable, nothing spectacular like many folks said. They have around 20 different Red wines from Italy, France, Spain, Argentina and 1 Pinot Noir from WA USA. Nothing from Napa Valley or Sonoma, and all wines are the lowest options from each vineyard. They don't have decanters, neither adequate Bordeaux glasses to drink the 2 or 3 good wines they have like "Brunello di Montalcino".
After a few plates we ordered the fondue for 5, they overcooked to the extent off making the entire room smell bad, and we didn't like it at all because it tasted like burned peanuts. We talked to our waitress and her best offer was to take off a plate of ham and cheese from the bill...Why should I want a $15 plate free and be charged $130 for a fondue we didn't like at all?! That's crazy!
To finish the night they overcharged us for 5 bottles of wine.
I'll be posting photos of the bill as well as all corks of the bottles we drank, they weren't 3 bottles of $90 each, it was 1 of $90 and 2 around $60...
BTW: The owner gets really mad when people talk. - Cynthea B.Miami, FL4777151Oct 8, 2018
How many underground jazz bars do you know of in Miami? I don't know of many and I'm so glad I now know of Le Chat Noir.
It's the cutest, coziest bar and the wine selection is absolutely divine.
The band playing the night I went was wonderful and kept me entertained throughout my time there.
What I like (and very much appreciate) about this bar is that it's very strict on noise during the performances. If you wish to chat it up, you must go upstairs. The basement is strictly for those who wish to enjoy the music to its fullest potential. I LOVE how the employees reinforce it throughout the night. There was a table near me which was rather loud and they were instantly taken care of.
They have an open mic throughout the week and they have live music Fridays and Saturdays at 10 PM and on Sundays at 8 PM.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a first date since those are usually interviews (lol) and the talking must be done upstairs, but I definitely recommend it for any love birds wanting to spend a nice, romantic night out listening to live music over drinks and food!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Carrie K.Miami, FL47419Nov 17, 2019
Homeless people surrounding the front door. The Music was overrated, very low volume with no energy. Talking is not allowed (We got in trouble for talking) so this is not a place you want to come to with friends or any company! The place is pretty inside, but the general atmosphere fell completely short. We ordered a cheese plate, which was a joke. It looked like someone opened a bag of sliced cheese from Publix and threw some on a plate with a few grapes.
Overall, Huge disappointment!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Daniel H.Miami, FL161138May 12, 2021
Takes me right back to the Big Easy. True to tradition. Every time. I love the place. Delicious food, good music, best way to make the stresses of the day disappear.

Love love love the environment, music, food, and beer selection. I have zero complaints about this place. You have been warned it is a real Jazz club and you must respect the musicians and keep quiet when they are playing.

Formerly Kork Wine & Cheese, Le Chat Noir is the newest and one of the better venues on the block.
One thing it really has going for it is its ambiance and atmosphere. It's a classic, with dark easy going relaxed décor, some really top of the line wines, excellent cheese plates (I had some of the best Gorgonzola I ever tasted) along with a very tasty Bruschetta.
They also offer a good tomato, mozzarella, basil Caprese Salad along with other salad selections of Spinach, an American of lettuce, carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes with a red wine vinaigrette, a Barcelona of mixed greens, chorizo, goat cheese croutons and Dijon honey, an Arugula, Soups of the Day, a variety of sandwiches and my favorite cheese plate with prosciutto.
One thing not to be missed is the basement. Yes, unlike most structures in Miami, it does have a basement. Word on street is that it was once a designated bomb shelter, but today it is a sort of hidden away place of comfort and relaxation.
For what it is, being a friendly relaxing place with a good atmosphere, quality wines and excellent cheeses or simple light salads or snacks, Four Stars.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
