I came here for lunch with a friend to try some polish food..should I note that I came with a polish friend & he ordered in polish for me....I immediately noticed that the waitress spoke mainly in the polish language...and when I tried to speak to her in English..it seemed like it was a little more difficult to understand me...hm..

Pierogi ($8.99) - it's polish style dumplings and you can choose a variety of options for the stuffing...I enjoyed the potato & cheese stuffing the most

Potato Pancakes - it comes with coleslaw and shredded beets..the potato pancakes tasted good..

Customer Care - nice, but the lady mainly spoke in Polish to my friend and couldn't understand me fully when I spoke in English... I couldn't get the waitress' attention when we needed our check...and our waters were not filled (not once--even tho it was empty)....so maybe after all.. I would say.. not too great w/ the customer service..

I'm not Polish and it was my first time trying Polish food so I'm not sure if this restaurant was great or not...the food tasted a-ok to me...

Now, while reading this, please keep in mind that I am currently involved in a Biggest Loser competition, and therefore, prone to drool over any carbs and somewhat limited in what I can eat. That being said, man is this place good food!!

My husband read about the place in the paper from a write-up and decided he wanted to have lunch here on Saturday. I decided I could afford the splurge and off we went. I ordered the stuffed cabbage with potato dumpling and green salad. He got the full-on fried breaded pork with dumplings and sauerkraut. Everything tasted so fresh and good. I went with the mushroom sauce on the cabbage and this was so much better than the usual tomato sauce that everyone uses.

The pork was extremely juicy and the dumplings were cooked with pieces of bacon! I cannot wait to go back when I have no restrictions and have some soup and dessert. The menu is pretty extensive and they are attached to a large bar, so they have tons of drinks and beers available as well.

One star off for the typical lack-luster european service. Although seated quickly and food delivered, she never checked on us, refilled our water or came to collect the bill at the end. We're not high maintenance, but just let us know we exist now and then!!

Me and my Polish fiance went here for dinner this evening.

Aside from the worst service ever, I was totally displeased with the quality of the polish cuisine and the lack the cocktail options. (we go out to Polish restaurants often)

As for the service, the Polish server was very snippy and unaccommodating. She immediately spoke Polish to us, then was aggravated when she realized she had to speak English to me, and Polish to my Fiance. (We are in America) I asked her if I could order Potato and Cheese Perogies (the menu called them dumplings).
I asked are dumplings and perogies the same thing on your menu? She rolled her eyes and with an attitude and a laugh she said "no they are not". I felt insulted and completely judged.

We were never given water and our drinks sat for way too long with no attention/service. The server sat at a table in the back (where we could see her back) and she acted as if she was rolling silver but seemed to be looking at her phone when I approached her. I actually had to come to her to check out and was given no attention after ordering whatsoever. The food was less than "so so". I have had much better Perogies elsewhere.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE. The only thing nice there is the furniture.

The main item was great, I had the ground veal stuffed with mushrooms. The potatoes were cold. We ordered coffee and when we ordered a second cup, they charged us for the second cup ( they brought a whole new set up). Never had that happen before with coffee.

Service was pretty awful. The waitress didn't know where the dishes we ordered went and didn't know enough English to know what we were saying (like veal). We tried to help, but she kept running back and fourth to the kitchen to figure it out.

The decor was very nice and the chairs were very comfortable.

I used to come to Ferajna more often and I decided to get back and have a dinner with my friend. My freind is from India, so I wanted him to try something different. We were kind of disappointed because it wasn't really what we expected- typical Polish food. I had a sweet and sour chicken with rice and set of sides. The food was tasty and fresh and plate look artistic, but if you want to have real Polish food go somewhere else.

I came here with a group of friends. We were 9 in all. every once in a while, a bunch of us get together and do something we call "International Food Club." =) This was our Polish food outing. Half our party happens to be Polish too. The food was excellent and plentiful. Prices weren't bad either for the entrees. All the entrees get two sides too. I ordered something from the pork menu. It was like a pork chop or steak rolled with mushrooms and carrots on one side and plum sauce on the other side, rolled toward the center. I had red roasted potatoes for one side and a cucumber salad as my second side. We all ordered drinks. My favorite at the table was the beer my friend ordered. They have some beer that has some raspberry flavoring syrup added in, and that was excellent! Another friend and I decided we would split our plates too, and he got a veal dish which consisted of a ground veal steak that was mixed with other things before being cooked. Pretty good. i had a Tropicana to drink, which was a bit sweet for me. I initially asked for a diet cola, and then said to give me a Tropicana instead. I did this the first time she came around, so I was a little upset when she brought me both drinks thinking I had rdered both or maybe just trying to charge for both. However, when I sipped on my Tropicana, I decided to keep the cola since the tropicana was so damn sweet. It was pineapple juice, malibu, midori, and triple sec... maybe. Another friend had pierogis filled with some cheese. I don't know what kind of cheese, maybe ricotta. The food was plentiful and we had a lot of trouble finishing the food, and most of us didn't finish! We were STUFFED, UNTIL....

We got free dessert! The dessert menu is huge and tempting, but we were all so stuffed we weren't going to purposely order dessert at this point. Of course, we all forgot we have two stomachs! One is for dinner and the other for dessert! there's ALWAYS room! Our waitress brought us all free dessert! That was awesome! i don't know if she liked us or if we seemed a little disappointed with anything (I'll get there in a minute). The dessert was a two tart-like breads with some kind of white mousse in the middle and a side of whipped cream and strawberries. Amazing!

There was also live music. This was very nice for the price! I can't remember the music, I think it was jazz with a female doing vocals. It was very nice though and soothing.

The atmosphere was also incredible. This place had candle lights on every table and the lights were dimmed. The decor is kind of fancy, but not over the top, it's red walls with beige/tan accent walls, very nice lighting/ceiling fixtures, and fireplaces. You can come casual or make it a romantic evening, because it works either way.

Why they lose a star and what was disappointing? You get the feeling money comes pouring in from drinks, because they have so many drinks on the menu! This is good of course! Drinks are a bit pricey though, not unusually pricey, but like any other place... mine was $7.50 if I remember correctly. However, when I was done with it and finished my diet cola, I wanted a glass of water as did anyone else who had finished their drink, but this place does NOT serve tap water. So, if you ask for water, you're getting a very fancy little green, glass bottle of water, and it will run you about $4. So, we couldn't get any water. This was the downer, and the loss of a point. Tap just isn't too much to ask for and a lot of us just wanted something flavorless and cold to wash down the meal and drinks, especially since my drink was so sweet.

Also, just for convenience, DO NOT TAKE Lake Shore to get here! you will drive down Belmont for like 20-30 minutes!

Price.... ALL THE FOOD, drinks, desserts, good laughs cost us about $20/person with tax and tip already included. It wasn't bad =)

after dinner mints and matchbooks at the bar =)

The food was good, but we were made to feel very unwelcome - hence the low stars. We got seated at a VERY small table in the corner which I felt was a penalty for not speaking polish. The waitress was VERY rude, spoke down to us very disdainfully and never came to check on the table after the food was brought. I gave up trying to get another drink even though I was very thirsty after spending the day moving into my house. The food was good although pricey. Sorry, but I can't justify spending the $s if I am going to be treated badly because I do not speak polish - I am not in poland, I am 3 blocks from my house! If the service were friendlier, I would not hesitate to make it a "regular" as I could walk here in 5 min. I will not be going back any time soon unless I can find a translator to dine with me.

Great food, having grown up on my grandmas and moms polish cooking it almost seems like someones grandma is in the back cooking, very authentic good food, the only polish restaurant i like, the only reason they get 4 stars is because it seems like they have weird hours you need to call agead to see if they are open, went a few times for lunc and dinner on weekdays and they were closed....

We were there for a little private party. Food very good!! We found out they make their own sour kraut (impressive). One of the waitresses could use some people skills. We were a group of 25 and she seemed very overwhelmed and not very friendly. I was there about 1 year ago before and remembered the staff to be very nice. Too bad it has changed. I might go again just for the food.
