BackDraft Pizzeria

Definitely some of our favorite pizza in Austin! The flavors of the dough and sauce are incredible.

I would definitely recommend ordering it ahead of time rather than getting there to then order as they typically are very busy and have a lot of pies to make.

Highly recommend trying this place out if you are going for Napoleon style pizza

We were at Celis Brewery today and decided to give BackDraft Pizzeria a try - recommend!

The food truck is super cute and it's right next to Celia's entrance inside the parking lot. They have a QR Code where you could just scan and order from your table at the brewery.

Today we got the Shrooms to the Moon and it's the best food truck pizza I've ever had!! It's super delicious and it goes really well with Celis' raspberry beer.

Can't wait to come back again!

Food truck was outside a brewery so it hit the spot. I custom ordered my pizza and hot out of the oven it hit the spot and was toasty. Fresh veggies too.
Best part was ranch was a large size so I was able to dip every bite. I'd go here just for the pizza to go.

Pros:
- They had good crust that was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside
- You can tell they care about ingredients because they specifically use san Marzano tomatoes and fresh mozz.

Cons:
- The pizza looked good but entirely lacked flavor. I bet some salt in the sauce would have saved it.
- We ordered a kale salad, and it wasn't until we went to pick up our order 25min later that they said they were out of that so we wouldn't be receiving it. They also said we'd be refunded, though I have yet to see any digital notice of that.

Grabbed a couple of pizzas for dinner on a Tuesday evening while hanging out at Celis. My husband got a pepperoni and I got the Shrooms to the Moon. Both had very thin crusts, although his was even more so (to the point where it was super flimsy), but the flavors were great. Pretty decent prices too.

That said, would I come back specifically for the pizza? Probably not, especially given how many other options are in the area, but overall it's a solid choice if you find yourself at Celis with a grumbling stomach!

Backdraft Pizzeria is one of the food options at Celis Brewery right now and what goes better with beer than pizza? They describe themselves as thin crust Italian, so not Neopolitan, which is what I'm used to.

The crust they have is great - thin, crisp, got enough chew, airy all at the same time, which is a great base for your pizza. San marzano tomatoes are also great for the bright acidity. Udder-Ly Cheesy is the base model and I think it actually could use less cheese. It's so overwhelmingly cheesy that I can actually say there is such a thing as too much cheese on a pizza (shocker I know). But looking at some of the other pies my friends got, they showed more promise in balance, so might try this again.

Ordering is purely by QR code, so don't be like us and stand around aimlessly in the cold thinking someone will take your order.

We shared the wedge salad which was huge. It was not the typical wedge salad that I love but it was good. We also shared the Backdraft pizza which was a little spicy. The pizza was good but didn't have a lot of toppings. I thought the crust was good as it was a little crispy.

Not horrible, not great. If you enjoy very thin crust pizza this might be for you. I didn't love the selection when I went but that might have changed by now.

Didn't read the reviews well enough earlier and we were a little put off by the QR code and lack of human interaction... but it was made up for by a lovely beer garden with string lights, a live band, and a basketball game playing on the television. When the pizza was ready 30 minutes later, we were ready to eat! It was what we were hoping for. Good flavors, fresh ingredients, and traditional wood-fired feel to it.

I got the margarita... it was interestingly salty. I didn't hate it, but the saltiness definitely stood out to me, which I haven't experienced in another margherita pizza before. My husband got the BackWater pizza. It was pretty spicy!

I took of a star for the impersonal feel of the food truck and for an extremely dry crust. Other than that, this pizza was great.

We went out for another amazing craft beer experience at Celis but needed some noms. They recommended BackDraft. As other reviews mention, you scan a QR code and place your order online. Also, there are only three pepperoni rolls per order. The rolls were quite tasty and we thought that maybe we should have ordered a pizza like some of the tables around us. We will definitely order from them again next time we are visiting Celis.
