Pretty impossible to achieve by hand and no polishes are likely to be as metallic and glossy as these. I got my nails minxed a while ago and I am totally loving the attention they draw.

Minx have been around for a good couple of years. It is a solid film with an adhesive back that is heat activated. The heat gives Minx the conformability to fit over the compound curves of nails and seals it onto the nail bed. The patent pending proprietary material Minx is made of can be easily removed with heat either by the nail technician or ourselves.

Minx comes in sheets like the ones above. Sort of like stickers if you like. I chose Flowers for my fingers and Minxlusion for my toes. I wanted to pick something which is loud in a subtle way for my fingers and I feel that it’s pretty impossible for someone to draw the flowers with such details on my nails, imagine how long it would take for painting 10 fingers? As for my toes, I went for a metallic silver Minx with rainbow reflects. There are very beautiful indeed.

In fact, everyone seems to be more attracted to my toes instead of the flowers on my fingers!!

The entire process took less than 2 hours, from a full manicure and pedicure to getting my nails all Minxed – I had 3 technicians working on them. Here is a summary of how it’s being done;-

1. You see the numbers on top of the Minx? The technicians pick the right size which fits my fingers.
2. They remove the Minx from the sheet and heat it up with a special Minx Lamp.
3. Stick onto my fingers and use a wooden stick to ensure placement of Minx is correct and press it down firmly to adhere onto my nail bed.
4. Trim off the excess by filing the edges off.
5. Place my already Minxed nails under the special Minx Lamp.

Really simple right? The entire process didn’t hurt a bit. The heat lamps weren’t as hot as the UV lamps for gel nails. No buffing of the surface of my natural nails needed which is good because constant buffing will damage our natural nails, causing them to be dry and brittle.

The next question is, how long can they last? I got them done on the 12th and I still have them on now. Stay tune for more updates!!
