Boruto Anime Reportedly Delayed Until 2027-28 - Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

A rumour online suggests that the Boruto amine’s return will be delayed for a long time, and will come back by 2027 to 2028.

An online rumour hints that the Boruto anime's comeback will be pushed way back, possibly to 2027 or 2028.

The anime was rumoured to be on a short break since March 2023, and a recent interview with Studio Pierrot’s managing director, Kiero Itsumi, hasn't reassured fans. The interview emphasised Pierrot's goal to create top-notch anime that can vie globally. This could imply that the studio might opt for making seasonal anime with breaks instead of the long-running style seen with Naruto and Boruto. Moreover, the studio is wholly concentrating on Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War.

This has stirred reactions among fans of the series, leaving many disappointed. With insufficient source material in the manga for adaptation, fans foresaw a delay in the Boruto anime's comeback. However, if the rumoured return is indeed true, it's far too lengthy. Nevertheless, this is merely a rumour — even if it comes from someone who is considered reliable in the community — so it should be approached with scepticism.

Boruto is available for streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
